Why is our work so important?

Our attorneys and paralegals provide free civil legal services to help clients find solutions to desperate circumstances. In 2019, we helped more than 8,201 individuals and families in matters of domestic violence, elder abuse, housing, and eviction defense, health care, education and benefits assistance, as well as and immigration rights.

The Justice for All Campaign benefits ABLE, LAWO, and the Toledo Bar Association’s Pro Bono Legal Services Program. As the sole providers of free civil legal aid to low-income residents of northwest Ohio, the Justice for All Campaign unites our fundraising efforts to ensure that vulnerable and disenfranchised members of our community have equal access to the legal system.

Annually, ABLE, LAWO, & TBA Pro-Bono Legal Services host the Access to Justice Awards Dinner to honor extraordinary service in the public interest. Individuals and organizations in northwest Ohio are honored for their outstanding contributions to promoting and providing access to justice for underprivileged and underserved people.
